South by Southwest Film & TV Festival Announces Audience Award Winners

Austin, Texas – The South by Southwest Film & TV Festival has announced its Audience Award winners for this year. Following the announcement of the Jury and Special Award winners last week, the Audience Award for Narrative Feature was given to “Bob Trevino Likes It,” while the Audience Award for a Headliner film went to “Monkey Man.” The Documentary Feature Audience Award was won by “Resynator.”

Tracie Laymon directed and wrote the narrative feature competition winner, “Bob Trevino Likes It,” which stars Barbie Ferreira and John Leguizamo. The documentary feature competition was topped by “Grand Theft Hamlet.”

The festival’s VP of Film & TV, Claudette Godfrey, expressed her excitement about the event, stating, “What an extraordinary week of film and TV premieres we’ve had here at SXSW, and there is more to come through Saturday.” She emphasized the enthusiasm of the audiences celebrating the diverse and exceptional work in the lineup.

The winners of the Audience Award were determined through voting, which concluded on Saturday, March 16. The complete list of winners can be found below.

In addition to the Audience Award winners, the festival also announced Jury and Special Award winners. These include Janet Pierson Champion Award winner, Kara Durrett, and Kickstarter NextGen Award winner, “Family.”
