2024 Charter School Regulations Unveiled: Join the Webinar to Stay Compliant

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Charter schools in California will face new laws in 2024, as a result of 891 bills passed by the state Legislature and signed into law by Governor Newsom in 2023. While not all of the new laws will directly impact charter schools, many of them will. To shed light on these changes and their implications, Procopio Partner Greta Proctor, in partnership with CCSA, will be hosting a webinar titled “New Year, New Laws: What’s New for Charter Schools in 2024.”

The webinar, scheduled for Wednesday, January 10th at 12:00 p.m. PST, will cover a range of topics including health and safety, curriculum, school vendors, and facilities. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the specific ways these new laws will affect charter schools and what actions schools will need to take to comply with the new legal requirements.

In recent years, charter schools have faced increased scrutiny and regulation as the debate around their effectiveness and accountability continues. This webinar serves as an important resource for charter school administrators and stakeholders, providing them with the necessary knowledge and understanding to navigate the changing landscape of charter school laws.

Charter schools are independently operated and publicly funded schools that offer an alternative to traditional public schools. They often have more flexibility in curriculum, teaching methods, and school organization. However, critics argue that this autonomy can lead to a lack of oversight and accountability.

With the new laws set to come into effect in 2024, charter schools will need to be aware of any changes that may affect their operations, curriculum, and overall compliance. This webinar aims to provide them with the information and guidance necessary to stay informed and adaptable in the face of these changes.

Registration is currently open for the webinar, giving charter school administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders the opportunity to participate and gain valuable insights into the upcoming legislative changes. Attendees will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to ensure their schools are in compliance with the new laws, ultimately benefiting their students and the broader education community.
