Lizzo Faces Continued Legal Drama as Former Backup Dancers Speak Out

HOUSTON, Texas – Singer Lizzo finds herself embroiled in a legal battle with her former backup dancers as the drama continues to unfold. Last summer, Lizzo was sued by her dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez for allegations of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment, and related behavior. In a recent announcement on Friday, Lizzo expressed her exhaustion from being constantly criticized and concluded her statement with a simple declaration: “I QUIT.”

Ron Zambrano, the legal representative for the dancers, expressed his disbelief at Lizzo’s claims of being bullied by the internet. Zambrano suggested that Lizzo should take a deep look within herself instead of trying to shift blame. He also criticized Lizzo’s legal and public relations strategy, stating that it was a failure and that she was desperate to play the victim.

Lizzo was initially accused in August of physically threatening, weight-shaming, and sexually harassing the plaintiffs. However, she denied these allegations and requested the dismissal of the lawsuit in October. In February, a judge partially granted this dismissal by throwing out several of the allegations.

Zambrano did not hold back in his criticism of Lizzo, stating that she had a history of throwing tantrums and should take responsibility for her actions. Lizzo’s future plans regarding her music or social media were not made clear in her statement. However, in June, she reportedly claimed that she was close to giving up due to body-shaming incidents.

Amidst the ongoing legal battle, Stefan Friedman, the spokesperson for Lizzo, addressed Zambrano’s wild personal attacks and expressed the need for him to act in the best interest of his clients. Zambrano, on the other hand, highlighted the issue of “celebrity toxicity” within the entertainment industry and hinted at a forthcoming reckoning for the entire industry.

Lizzo is currently appealing the February ruling in hopes of having more of the case dismissed. The judge has put the case on hold as Lizzo continues to challenge it, raising questions about the outcome of this legal saga.

As the legal drama unfolds, it remains to be seen how this battle between Lizzo and her former dancers will ultimately be resolved.
