Kozhikode, India – Acclaimed author Sarah Joseph has been chosen as the recipient of this year’s Ashitha Memorial Award. This prestigious accolade includes a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a citation. The award will be presented by renowned writer Kalpetta Narayanan at the Alakapuri auditorium in Kozhikode at 5 pm.
The esteemed panel of judges for the award comprised of writers Rosemary, Shihabuddin Poythumkadavu, Santhosh Aechikkanam, and B Murali. The ceremony aims to recognize and honor outstanding literary achievements.
In addition to Sarah Joseph’s recognition, several other literary awards will be presented during the event. Soumya Chandrasekharan will be awarded for her exceptional work in the short story genre, while Surendran Sreemoolanagaram will be acknowledged for his contributions to children’s literature. Shyam Tharamel will be honored for his outstanding poetry, and Remani Venugopal will be recognized for her impactful novel. Furthermore, Theresa Tom’s memoir will also be acknowledged for its significance.
The ceremony will also highlight young talent in the literary field. Austin Ajith will receive the Ashitha Memorial Balashree Award, while Suja Gopalan will be presented with a special jury award for her poetry.
