Kanpur, India — A troubling incident unfolded in the Bithoor area of Kanpur when a local lawyer and his brother were arrested for allegedly kidnapping and torturing a teenage boy whom they discovered in the company of the lawyer’s daughter. Police reports indicate that the boy, 17, was with the lawyer’s 14-year-old daughter, having met after their coaching class in a nearby local market. The girl’s father, upon spotting them together, verbally reprimainted both adolescents before sending his daughter home and scolding the boy publicly. According to police, not only did they forcibly take the teenager to a farmhouse but subjected him to hours of physical abuse.
