John I. LaMancuso Sworn in as Jamestown City Court Judge, Carrying on Family Legacy

JAMESTOWN, NY – John I. LaMancuso was recently sworn in as the new Jamestown City Court Judge, succeeding his father, John L. LaMancuso, who served in the role for 30 years. The oath of office was administered by the outgoing judge himself in a private ceremony at City Court on New Year’s Eve. The event was attended by LaMancuso’s family, including his son Johnny F. LaMancuso, who held the family Bible for the swearing-in. Also present were LaMancuso’s mother, Kathleen LaMancuso, his in-laws, Guy and Ellen Ditonto, and City Court Judge George Panebianco.

Expressing his gratitude for the support he received, LaMancuso shared his appreciation for his wife, Gillian, his parents, his children, his extended family, and his friends. He acknowledged their unwavering support, emphasizing that their assistance was instrumental in helping him reach this point in his career. LaMancuso previously held several notable positions, including chairman of the law firm of Lewis & Lewis, P.C., attorney for the village of Lakewood, and chairman of the Jamestown Planning Commission. He was elected City Court Judge on November 7th.

Reflecting on the significance of being sworn in by his father, LaMancuso stated that it was a dream come true, as his dad was his inspiration to pursue a career in law. He expressed the sentimental attachment his family had to the courthouse and the courtroom, noting that it had always been a special place for them. LaMancuso now begins his 10-year term with a sense of pride and responsibility, eager to serve the people of Jamestown.
