NEW DELHI – Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented the inaugural National Creators Award on March 8 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The award ceremony aimed to recognize and honor the exceptional talent and impact of creators across various domains, including storytelling, social change, and environmental sustainability. The National Creators Award received an overwhelming response, with over 150,000 nominations submitted across 20 different categories. In the subsequent voting round, approximately 1 million votes were cast for digital creators in various award categories. From this extensive public engagement, 23 winners, including three international creators, were chosen, reflecting the people’s choice.
The awards were presented in categories such as best storyteller, the disruptor, celebrity creator, green champion, and best creator for social change. The jury committee, including Prasoon Joshi, Chairman of McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific, and CEO & CCO of McCann Worldgroup India, expressed the rigorous selection process and the immense talent displayed by the creators.
Joshi, also a recipient of the prestigious NCA award, emphasized the rich storytelling tradition of India and the diversity of content creation in the country. He commended the Government of India for their efforts in promoting and supporting creators, expressing gratitude for the technological platforms and tools that have made content creation accessible to even remote areas.
