South by Southwest Film & TV Festival Reveals Audience Favorites: ‘Bob Trevino Likes It,’ ‘Monkey Man,’ and ‘Resynator’ Take Home Top Honors

Austin, Texas – The winners of the Audience Awards at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film & TV Festival have been announced, following last week’s unveiling of the Jury and Special Award winners. “Bob Trevino Likes It” took home the Audience Award for Narrative Feature, while “Monkey Man” was named the Audience Award winner for a Headliner film. The Documentary Feature Audience Award went to “Resynator.”

Directed and written by Tracie Laymon, “Bob Trevino Likes It” stars Barbie Ferreira and John Leguizamo. It also won the narrative feature competition in the Jury and Special Award category. Meanwhile, “Grand Theft Hamlet” emerged as the top documentary feature in the competition.

VP of Film & TV at SXSW, Claudette Godfrey, expressed her excitement over the festival’s lineup and the audiences’ enthusiastic response. She stated, “Our theaters have been bursting with incredible and vocal audiences celebrating the exceptional and diverse work in our lineup, and we’re so excited to celebrate this year’s jury and special award winners!”

The Audience Award voting will continue until Saturday, March 16, with winners announced shortly thereafter.
