Atlanta Judicial Commission Now Accepting Nominations for Municipal Court Judge

Atlanta, Georgia – The Atlanta Judicial Commission is now accepting nominations for the position of Municipal Court Judge in the city. This opportunity is open to members of the bar, who can nominate themselves or others, as well as the public, who are also invited to submit nominations. The deadline for written nominations is February 10, 2024. Nominees must meet certain requirements, including being at least 25 years old, a resident of Atlanta for one year prior to appointment, and having practiced law in Georgia for a minimum of five years.

Once the commission receives nominations, they will send an application and schedule to each nominee. The list of nominees will be made public upon request. Although the commission welcomes communications about the qualifications of a nominee, they discourage general endorsement letter-writing campaigns. Any communication regarding a nominee should be sent to all members of the commission.
