FREDERICK, Md. – A Frederick man has been indicted by the Frederick County Grand Jury for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking and distribution in the county. Keith Lamar Wright, 41, is facing charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of cocaine.
According to Frederick Police, authorities collaborated with the State’s Attorney’s Office last year to obtain a search and seizure warrant for Wright’s apartment. On November 21, 2023, officers from the Special Response Team and Tactical Investigations Unit executed the warrant and discovered suspected cocaine and heroin, a .380-millimeter handgun, ammunition, a digital scale, and cash at Wright’s residence.
In addition to the drug offenses, Wright has been charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine within a 1000-foot radius of a school zone, possession of a regulated firearm after being convicted of a crime of violence, possession of a regulated firearm after being convicted of a disqualifying crime, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, use of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime, and possession of ammunition while prohibited from possessing a regulated firearm.
Wright was promptly taken into custody and is currently being held without bond. The indictments against him, along with other individuals, have now been transferred to the Circuit Court for further proceedings, where trial dates will be determined.
Among the other indictments issued by the Grand Jury, Martin G. Munyorg, 43, of Frederick, faces charges of 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, and reckless endangerment for an incident in December 2023. Eric Daniel Schmidt, 31, also of Frederick, is charged with 1st-degree assault, two counts of 2nd-degree assault, and one count of reckless endangerment for an incident that occurred in December 2023.
Trista Lynn Courtney, 34, of Cacapon, WV, faces charges of possession with intent to distribute and possession of a large amount of fentanyl, as well as possession of cocaine for an incident in December 2022. Catalino Garcia, 35, of Frederick, is charged with 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and 2nd-degree child abuse for an incident that occurred in December 2023.
Furthermore, Jasmine Marie James, 29, of Frederick, is facing charges of 2nd-degree child abuse and 2nd-degree assault following an incident in December 2023. Whitney Latasha Lambert, 32, also from Frederick, is charged with 2nd-degree child abuse, 2nd-degree assault, and disorderly conduct for incidents in December 2023. Lastly, Ofilio Jason Quezada, 26, of Germantown, Md., is charged with 3rd-degree sex offense for an incident that took place in July 2023.
It is important to note that an indictment serves as a charging document that alleges criminal conduct. All defendants are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law, according to the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office.
