South Carolina Man Arrested for Threatening Judge with Violent Emails

SPARTANBURG, South Carolina – A man from South Carolina has been arrested and charged with sending threatening emails to a judge, according to officials. David Matthew Zwicker, 36, allegedly sent a total of nine emails to the judge between December 30 and January 19, with the sole intention of causing mental or emotional distress.

One of the emails, sent on January 14, stated, “I’ll rip your face off.” Zwicker now faces charges of threatening the life, person, or family of a public official, intimidation of court officials, harassment in the second degree, and unlawful communication, as announced by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division on Friday.

Zwicker was subsequently booked into the Spartanburg Detention Center.
