Special Judge Stands Strong: Refuses Defense Request to Step Down in Delphi Murders Case

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The special judge overseeing the Delphi murders case has declined a request from the defense to step down from the trial. On Tuesday, Special Judge Frances Gull made her decision known, rejecting the defense team’s plea to have her removed from Richard Allen’s case. The defense argued that Judge Gull was biased against Allen and his attorneys. However, Judge Gull cited an earlier unanimous decision by the Indiana Supreme Court which upheld her position in the case. Allen is scheduled to appear in court next week for a hearing, with his trial slated for October.
