New York City, NY – Otterbourg P.C. has officially announced the launch of its Mass Tort Bankruptcy Practice Group. The group, which had previously functioned informally within the firm, has now solidified its position as a key practice area. The practice group will offer guidance and representation to creditors and fiduciaries involved in bankruptcies with substantial mass tort liabilities.
Led by Bankruptcy and Restructuring Partner Sunni P. Beville and Litigation Partner Adam C. Silverstein, the cross-departmental practice group will benefit from the expertise of Melanie Cyganowski, retired Chief Judge of the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York. The group has already established itself as a leader in the field, having played significant roles in landmark cases such as In re LTL Management LLC, In re Aearo Technologies LLC, In re Purdue Pharma L.P., and In re Mallinckrodt PLC.

Post-plan confirmation, the group’s attorneys will also advise and represent settlement trust trustees and committees.
