DETROIT, MICHIGAN – The family of a Black Detroit man who was fatally shot by police officers in October 2018 has been awarded over $1.5 million in damages as a result of a wrongful death lawsuit. Lamont Johnson, 44, was killed during an encounter with Detroit police officers Tyler Nagy and Raul Martinez. YORK COUNTY, Neb. – A grand jury in York County has determined that the county is not at fault for the death of an inmate in their jail. Justin Christensen, a 30-year-old man from Iowa, was found dead in his cell last September. Although the cause of death was not revealed, Christensen had been arrested for felony theft.
