Baton Rouge, Louisiana – LSU has reached a settlement agreement to pay $1.9 million in a lawsuit involving 10 former students. The lawsuit accused university officials of violating the students’ civil rights by failing to adequately investigate and address reports of rape, partner violence, and sexual harassment on campus. Brockton, Massachusetts – The city of Brockton has agreed to pay $3.75 million to Frances Choy, a woman who spent 17 years in prison for a deadly arson she did not commit. Choy was wrongfully convicted as a teenager, while investigators overlooked her troubled cousin, Kenneth Choy, as the actual perpetrator of the April 2003 fire that claimed the lives of Frances Choy’s parents, Jimmy and Anne Choy. Parent Company of UFC Settles Antitrust Lawsuits with Former Fighters for $335 Million

Las Vegas, Nevada – TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of UFC, has agreed to pay $335 million to settle two class-action lawsuits brought by former UFC fighters accusing the MMA promoter of violating antitrust laws. The lawsuits alleged that Zuffa, the predecessor entity that owned and operated UFC, underpaid fighters and engaged in anticompetitive behavior.
