MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A recent class action lawsuit against UnitedHealthcare alleges that the health insurance provider wrongfully denied claims for post-acute care using an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm. The plaintiffs claim that UnitedHealthcare’s use of the “nH Predict” AI algorithm led to the rejection of elderly patients’ claims for stays in skilled nursing-care facilities and in-home care. MOREHEAD, Kentucky – Former Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis has been ordered by a federal judge to pay approximately $260,000 in attorney fees and expenses to a same-sex couple she denied a marriage license to in 2015. This comes in addition to the $100,000 she was previously ordered to pay the couple in September. The couple’s attorney, Michael Gartland of DelCotto Law Group, expressed satisfaction with the ruling.
